Bible verses for couples

Reading a verse as a couple is not the same as reading it alone. When you both read the same text and each says what it stirred, the Word stops being a reading and becomes a conversation.

Here are the 43 verses we use in Amaré, grouped by theme. Under each one there is a question, the same one couples get in the app, so the reading ends in a talk rather than in silence.

They work for dating, engaged and married couples. You do not have to read them all: one a day, at the same time, is enough.

How to read them together

1. Pick a verse and read it out loud, one of you.
2. Each of you answers the question on your own, without seeing the other answer. A note on your phone or a piece of paper is fine.
3. Share both answers at the same time and talk about what matches and what does not. End by praying for each other, even one sentence.

Love and unity

And though one may be overpowered, two can resist. Moreover, a cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

Questions people ask

Which verse is good for a dating couple?

Ecclesiastes 4:12 speaks of the strength of two who walk together, and 1 Corinthians 13:4 describes what love looks like day to day. Both work well early in a relationship because they take nothing for granted.

How do we start reading the Bible as a couple?

Small and daily. One verse, one question, five minutes at the same time. Consistency weighs more than volume; a full week beats one long evening.
